A partial fit-out is a common request. You can ask for cupboards only, trim panels only, or interior finishing without commissioning a full conversion. The converter scopes and quotes for exactly what you specify.

The converter makes card or thin-ply templates from the van’s actual internal curves, wheel arch profiles and body panels. Those templates are transferred to the finished material before cutting, so every piece sits flush with no gaps.

Trim panels cover bare metal and reduce some noise, but they are not the same as acoustic or thermal insulation. If temperature control or road noise is the main concern, ask the converter what additional work should be included alongside the trim.

Ready-made units cost less upfront but rarely fit a van’s curved interior well, leaving gaps and movement. Custom cabinetry templated to the bodywork uses the space more efficiently and produces a neater, more durable result.

Loose trim panels flex and rattle on every journey. Over time the fixings work free, edges lift, and bare metal is exposed to moisture. Replacing panels that have warped or corroded costs more than fitting them correctly at the outset.

Carcasses are typically 12mm or 18mm plywood. Door and drawer fronts are laminate-faced for durability. MDF is used for shelving where a painted finish is preferred. The converter recommends materials based on the van’s weight budget and intended use.
